Last fall, the City solicited bids for chemical free, weed free, and leaf blower free landscape maintenance for City parks and right-of-ways. Only one bid was received in the amount of $3.1 million, which is an increase of $2.45 million from our current contract cost. Due to the exponentially higher costs, Council directed staff to analyze alternatives to the City’s landscape maintenance program with the goal of finding a balance between landscape standards that are acceptable to the community and what is also financially responsible. The Community Services Department will host a workshop to discuss options to the City’s landscape maintenance program. Please contact Community Services at (909) 399-5431 for more information.
