What's Outside Your Front Door? an Environmental Justice Event
Monday, April 18, 2016, 07:00pm - 09:00pm
Robert Redford Conservancy for Southern California Sustainability and Pitzer College present a screening of the video WHAT'S OUTSIDE YOUR FRONT DOOR? An Environmental Justice Project. It will be followed by a Q&A with student filmmakers and members of the Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice (CCAEJ), a reception, and refreshments.

The project engages around the concept of how external environments impact the way people live in their homes and within their communities. It explores themes of spatiality, access, privilege, burden of proof, and environmental racism. The video contrasts our community, Claremont, with San Bernadino while looking at how what is going on outside of your house, affects how you live in your home. We all are exposed to environmental risks, however some communities, mainly low-income communities of color are exposed to many more hazards than others.
